********************** Aermacchi MB339 CB RNZAF*********************
The Aermacchi Mb339 is an advanced trainer used by the Italian Air Force and by many others such as the Royal New Zealand Airforce (RNZAF)
This particular example is a CB version , used only by RNZAF, it belongs to 14 Sqn. at Ohakea air base.

********************** A few notes from Ross Yeatman/FFG NZ *********
THANKS Massimo for producing such a fine model !!! and spending time to
alter to the CB version so I could accurately model the textures for the NZ version.
Visit www.SurClaro to see what other NZ models I have done by typing in my name in the search engine.

FILE: 339cb_nz.zip
for FS2000/FS2000 PRO.

-The file model is an improvement of my former MB339C_mtpz.zip.
-New set of textures made by Ross Yeatman . Which I thank for the excellent work he has done.

The FS model has been released thinking to be used with Paolo Zamparo's panel from our former model MB339pan_mtpz.zip and sound files Mb339sn1.zip and mb339sn2.zip, original from Aaron Swindle modified by Paolo Zamparo.

This Fs model plane has much as possible moving parts like flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevator, steering nose wheel linked to the rudder, airbrake which open linked to the spoiler key.
It has also a high detailed cockpit canopy with pilots inside. The canopy shows opened when the engine is stopped.
This is my last model and has been created with FS Design Studio by ABACUS (www.abacuspub.com).

Installation:
The installation procedure suppose that you have already installed the former MB339Pan_mtpz aircraft with sound files. If you don't have those files you can still use Mb339A provided you do the following:
Unzip the 339C_RSV.ZIP in x\fs2000\aircaft directory keeping the folder structure. If you want to use the panel from the MB339Pan, in panel folder you'll find the panel.cfg with alias pointing to MB339pan_mtpz\panel, otherwise it is possible to use a default panel. Similarly if you want to use the Mb339pan sound, in the sound folder it's already a sound.cfg file pointing to mb339pan_mtpz\sound, otherwise it's always possible to use the default_sound.cfg file renaming it to sound.cfg.
That's all.

Notes on the the RNZAF Aermacchi:
(From www.kiwiaircraftimages.simplenet.com )

The 'Macchi' was introduced to RNZAF service in 1991. Eighteen aircraft (NZ6460-NZ6477) were purchased to replace the BAC Strikemaster Mk88 which had been acquired in 1970, and was experiencing fatigue problems. The choice of the aircraft has been the subject of some controversy. Purchased at a time when the Defence budget was under pressure, the acquisition was closely monitored, and a number of alternatives (including the Pilatus PC-9, Alpha Jet,and Bae Hawk) were considered before the NZ$266 million deal was settled. The first three aircraft were handed over on April 19, 1991. Further groups of three aircraft arrived at six month intervals and the first all MB339-CB training course was held in February 1992. As the first operator of the MB339 with the Viper 680-43 engine, the RNZAF has experienced a number of problems, which received a lot of media attention. Flameouts on wet runways, compressor stalls during rapid acceleration/deceleration, defective fuel supply components, turbine blade cracks, and potential wiring problems, lead up to a government decision in 1995 to withhold final payment for the aircraft pending resolution of the engine problems. The manufacturer subsequently agreed to meet the cost of the problem rectification, and the aircraft has settled into service. Subsequent reports indicate the RNZAF is more than happy with the aircraft.

Operated by 14 SQN based at RNZAF Ohakea, the aircraft provide the training step between the ab-initio CT-4E, and the operational A-4K. At the time of its acquisition all pilot trainees went through the jet conversion programme. In 1998 the RNZAF adopted a streamed training system, and only strike pilot candidates are sent for jet training. Flight training is supplemented by a one of a kind Macchi simulator designed and built by Hughes Rediffusion Simulation Ltd (now part of Thompson Training and Simulation Ltd). The aircraft also provides a second line strike capability, and combines state of the art avionics with the ability to carry most stores in the current RNZAF inventory. Although capable of carrying a wide variety of weaponry, the aircraft are only currently cleared to carry 12.7mm gunpacks, BDU33 and BDU48 practice bombs, and CRV7 rockets in RNZAF service. The aircraft normally only use four of the six hardpoints, and are commonly seen carrying two 300 litre auxillary fuel tanks. Like the Strikemasters before them, the Macchis are becoming a common sight as they deploy an annual exercise to various provincial airfields around the country.
